Dr B R Ambedkar also wanted the executive committee of all India scheduled cast federation to pass a resolutin on 10 september 1949 in support of making SANSKRIT the official language of India. But he withdrew the proposal due to the opposition and the threat of walkout from youth members of executive committeelike sri B P Maurya, who now regrets his opposition for Dr Ambedkar`s proposal in the following words:

It is an admitted fact that sanskrit is the most scientific language. It is also an admitted fact that sanskrit is an ancient language which has very accurate grammar. It will be appreciated by well -meaning persons if sanskrit is included in modern Indian languages.

I had the privilege to work Babasaheb Dr Ambedkar for a long period of 10 years. I had been the member of national executive committee of scheduled caste federation. Once, I think during the year of 1949, he wanted the National executive comminittee of scheduled caste federation should pass the resolution that sanskrit should be made the national languages of free India Ultimately the India the resolution was dropped. But Babasaheb Dr Ambedkar made a press statement wherein he stated that Sanskrit should be made made the national languages of free India.
